Mammoth Lakes

Spent the day exploring Mammoth Lakes, CA.  Great little ski town turned fishing town in the summer.  Georgous views and the nicest people.  The lakes are so pristine, the water crystal clear.

Went up to Mammoth Village, the city center.  Looked like a great time in the winter, but it was pretty dead this time of year.  Had to take the city trolley there so we walked around for a while and then went in a bar and had a drink.  The houses are spectacular around the ski lifts.  Went to a restaurant closer to the rv park for dinner and met "some girls" who sat next to us at the bar.  They were golfing, ugh i cannot get away from golf talk.  Very nice though and very californian.  The one girl was very nice but she would answer things with "rad" and "narly".  She told Jeff she was "stoked" about this golf course, they were 40 years old.   I am not making this up.  He was talking to some guy that was a ski instructor for disabled people but he taught yoga in the summer.  I am sure Jeff will be taking yoga soon.

How about this McDonalds Swiss Chalet.

This is the Mammoth Village center of town

This was the sign on the beach, really why would I be afraid?

  1. I have been snow boarding up here, and we stopped at that silly McDonalds (I absolutely did not eat anything from it though :P) Also, I think taking up Yoga is a terrific idea! You better believe that I am dragging my dad (kicking and screaming, I am sure) to a class when he finally makes it out here for a visit :D
Hope you guys are having a blast!
